코닥사의 전설적인 컬러필름인 코다크롬으로 촬영한 그의 사진들은 선명한 색채로 인한 현장감이 압권이다. 철모에 진달래를 꽂은 소년병, 부서진 전투기 위에 올라타 환히 웃는 까까머리 소년, 피난길에서도 해맑은 미소를 지으며 카메라를 바라보는 아이, 폐허가 된 서울 거리, 지붕의 절반이 부서져 나간 수원 화성의 북문인 장안문 등 그가 담아낸 사진들은 마치 타임머신을 타고 당시로 날아간 듯 70년 전 과거의 모습을 우리 눈앞에 펼쳐놓는다.
